Arcado Elementary School Council- Nominations Now Accepted

School councils are advisory bodies. The council shall provide advice and recommendations to the school principal related to student achievement and school improvement.

The members of the school council are accountable to the constituents they serve and shall:

Regularly participate in council meetings;

Maintain a school-wide perspective on issues;

Participate in information and training programs;

Act as a link between the school council and the community;

Encourage the participation of parents and others within the school community; and

Work to improve student achievement and performance.

Any parent/guardian who is interested in running for a position on the local school council may nominate themselves and should e-mail Penny Palmer Young at by August 1. The school council election will take place on curriculum nights, August 22 & 29. In your e-mail, please include a short paragraph on why you would like to be elected to the council; this information will be included on the ballot.
